Heritage Park (4 Wing Cold Lake)

Heritage Park is located at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake. The park is open to the public and is along the paved Cold Lake Millennium Trail which connects the base to Cold Lake North.

Heritage Park was created in 1989 with the first installation of the CF-5A Freedom Fighter in commemoration of 419 Squadron colours. Over the years new installations have been added which include a gazebo that the Canadian Military Engineers built to commemorate their 100th anniversary in 2003, a CF-18 Hornet that was dedicated in 2004 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake, the CT-33 Silver Star to mark the 81st Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2005, and the Fallen Aircrew Memorial.

The park is a great place to learn some Royal Canadian Air Force aviation history and take a photo in front of some of Canada’s fighter jets— past and present.
