ReSkilled Life Learning Centre

ReSkilled Life is an online and in person training provider in Alberta’s boreal forest, one hour North of Edmonton. Located on 25 acres of wild paradise, the school is dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional skills so that students can reconnect with their roots and get to know the lives of their ancestors in the modern-day. This 100% Indigenous run traditional skills school offers their guided tours and their traditional skills classes are shared onsite near Perryvale and in the City of Edmonton.

Founded in 1963, Edmonton Opera is dedicated to producing great performances that showcase the powerful emotions of opera to the community. Each season is designed to resonate with modern audiences; they challenge themselves to present familiar favourites in imaginative new productions and take artistic risks by featuring repertoire that audiences rarely get to experience live. At Edmonton Opera, the focus is on community. Edmonton Opera also performs at public venues and in unexpected places to strike a chord with the community.

Queen Elizabeth II Planetarium

As the first planetarium in Canada, the Queen Elizabeth II Planetarium holds national significance. Located in Coronation Park, the landmark is used to provide programming and facility rental services.

Mother Earth Essentials

Since the beginning, Carrie has been passionate about sharing her Indigenous culture and the spiritual properties handed down to her. In late 2020, Carrie published her book Mother Earth Plants for Health & Beauty: Indigenous Plants, Traditions and Recipes with Eschia Books. It features recipes for teas, soap, bath products, balms, and lotion.

ACUA Art Gallery & Artisan Boutique

Through educational programs, exhibitions, tours, festivals, and special projects, Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) promotes growth and provides support to the artists of Ukrainian heritage living in Alberta. Located in the heart of Edmonton’s Strathearn community, the ACUA Art Gallery & Artisan Boutique features unique and original works of art, craft, books and music from Canada and abroad.

Indigenous Artist Market Collective

The Indigenous Artist Market Collectiveis a grassroots group of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis artists, creatives, traditional knowledge holders, performers, and entrepreneurs, who are working together to share their culture, stories, and knowledge with the world around them. Their main basis is at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market every weekend, but they also have a partnership with many local visitor attractions like Fort Edmonton Park where they are set up 5 days a week with a pop-up store inside the Indigenous Peoples Experience Building May till Sept.

Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site

Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site was the home of the first Premier of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford. In 1911, A.C. Rutherford, his wife Mattie and their family moved into this beautiful brick mansion near the university campus. The family entertained friends, relatives, and influential Edmontonians for more than a generation. Today, this restored and furnished Edwardian-era home maintains the Rutherford tradition of hospitality and offers visitors a glimpse into the past with costumed interpreters, guided tours, and special events. Rutherford House will be re-opening on May 18, 2022 for pre-booked programs and events.

Black Elk Art

Black Elk Arts are an Indigenous business located on the Blood reserve. They welcome visitors by appointment from all backgrounds to their traditional lands. They are part of four bands of Blackfoot. They offer lapidary and silversmith short courses and tours to their studio and to purchase authentic made jewelry or local arts and crafts from a few select artisans. Experience authentic Indigenous culture as expressed in the evolution of jewelry decorum and you can create your own piece of jewelry using Alberta’s official gemstone ammolite in your creation.
