Banded Peak Brewing
Banded Peak Brewery’s story began in 2011 when Alex Horner and Colin McLean began experimenting with homebrewing. Mathew Berard soon joined them and the trio began brewing seriously for a couple of years. The name comes from a well-known mountain to Calgary adventurers. In the fall, a black band of rock begins to form on the side of the peak, signifying the oncoming of winter. Banded Peak has an open-door policy and a great working relationship with other breweries, even collaborating on a number of beers. They try to use as much Alberta barley as possible, totaling about 90% of their grain.
