Broken Tine Orchard
Nestled along the Rocky Mountain foothills southwest of Beaverlodge, Broken Tine Orchard invites you to discover the haskap berry, Canada’s superfruit! Established on the original 1926 homestead of a proud fourth-generation family farm, this tranquil orchard features around 20,000 haskap plants grown with a deep commitment to soil health. Bordered by the beautiful Boreal forest, it is the perfect setting for a unique culinary tourism experience. Visitors can enjoy orchard picking or stop by the rustic yet elegant cabin to sample exclusive wines, meads, and fresh juices developed alongside a professional vintner, all crafted, bottled, and labeled right on the farm. Before you leave, make sure to relax by the calm water and snap a memorable photo next to the original 1941 International truck!
Seasonality and U-Pick: The haskap U-pick season (featuring Indigo Gem and Aurora varieties) opens during the summer months. Visitors are welcome to stop by the cabin to purchase estate wines, fresh juices, or even grab a locally made Friceys frozen treat.
Private Tours and Amenities: Private wine tours can be arranged by calling to book ahead. Restroom facilities are conveniently available on-site at the orchard.
Safety and Pets: To ensure the highest standards of food safety, pets are not permitted on the orchard grounds. Additionally, please note that honeybees are active on-site for pollination; guests with severe allergies should ensure they bring their own auto-injector (EpiPen).
Opening hours: July – 10am to 5 pm
