Fort Chipewyan National Historic Site of Canada

Founded in 1788, Fort Chipewyan was the first European settlement in Alberta. Now, this museum in Fort Chipewyan is an exact replica of the 1870s Hudson’s Bay store and contains historical artifacts from the fur trade, historical photographs, and other unique items. This destination can be quite the adventure, as Fort Chipewyan can only be accessed by plane or boat in the summer and by a winter road in the winter.
