Jack Bird Pond

A true paradise for outdoor and wildlife lovers, the Jack Bird Pond Day Use Area is one of the premier locations for wildlife viewing in Saddle Hills County. Located just a short drive east of Moonshine Lake, this peaceful site was donated to the province in 1978 by the estate of Mr. Jack Bird and was later incorporated into the Provincial Park in 1998 to establish a vital wildlife movement corridor. Surrounded by a diverse boreal mixedwood forest, this scenic wetland area features a number of active beaver ponds and provides an exceptional sanctuary for grassland, forest, and lakeside birds, including the beautiful Trumpeter Swan. Visitors can relax in nature while keeping an eye out for the region’s abundant wildlife, which includes deer, moose, elk, bears, foxes, coyotes, and otters.
