Les Tisserandes de Saint-Isidore

The St. Isidore Weavers (Les Tisserandes) are a cornerstone of Franco-Albertan heritage, established in the 1970s to preserve traditional textile arts. Based in the St. Isidore Cultural Centre, this dedicated group of artisans keeps the crafts of their Quebecois ancestors alive using traditional wooden looms. They specialize in transforming raw materials like wool and cotton into functional art, ensuring that the history of the region’s founding families remains woven into the community’s fabric. More than just a craft group, the club serves as a vibrant educational hub where weaving, knitting, and sewing skills are shared across generations. Their high-quality, authentic creations are a highlight of local culture and are prominently showcased during the annual St. Isidore Carnival.
