Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park
The Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park was designated a Canadian “signature experience“ by the Canadian Tourism Commission. Filled with the history of the Blackfoot Confederacy, it has been a First Nations gathering place for thousands of years.
Boy Chief Trading Post
Boy Chief Trading Post is named after our grandfather and great blackfoot warrior ‘Boy Chief’. A true leader and a revered medicine man it is with his memory in mind that we established Boy Chief Trading Post to help preserve not just the Blackfoot culture but to promote the arts, crafts and culture of other indigenous nations both here in Canada and the United States.
Moonstone Creation
Moonstone Creation is an Indigenous-owned, family-run business in Calgary, Alberta. Yvonne Jobin & her daughter, Amy Willier, are Cree First Nations artists that co-own Moonstone Creation. Although they make the majority of the products they sell right in-store, they represent over 50 Aboriginal artists from across Canada. with a wide variety of art, from beaded jewelry to bronze sculptures, they ensure everything is Native made, not Native-Inspired. For a true, Made in Canada experience, come to Moonstone Creation.
Mahikan Trails
It’s an eye-opening experience when you take a walk in a mountain meadow or through the forest with Brenda Holder. She can point to and identify any plant, tree or bush and tell you how it can be used to make something crucial to survival, a food source or a fire starter. Holder, operator and owner of Mahikan Trails, is following in the footsteps of her family lineage as a Cree guide of the Kwarakwante people of Jasper, Alberta where she grew up. Passing along her knowledge is part of her passion for supporting indigenous tourism for which she has won many distinctions.
