Centrally positioned within the community of Zama City, the Zama City Campground & Cabins provides a perfect setting for weekend getaways, family vacations, or extended work-related stays.
Accommodations & Glamping: The property features 22 full-service campsites (pull-through and back-in options with gravel pads, fire pits, and picnic tables), alongside a fully equipped family bunk model RV available for rent. Multiple cabin styles are also available:
Year-Round Cabins: Climate-controlled units featuring full kitchens, full bathrooms, screened-in decks, a cozy queen bedroom, and two spacious lofts (bedding included).
Glamping Cabins: Powered summer-use forestry structures equipped with a queen bed, mini-fridge, microwave, and deck barbecue (guests must bring their own food and bedding).
Campground Amenities & Activities: The campground is packed with recreational features, including a swimming pond with a giant water slide, a sandy beach, horseshoe pits, a fenced playground, and Alberta’s northernmost 9-hole disc golf course. A separate stocked pond is available for catch-and-release rainbow trout fishing. As an ATV-friendly community, visitors can easily bring their machines to explore local trails. Practical amenities include 24-hour coin-operated showers, laundry facilities, a large screened picnic shelter with cooking equipment, and a weekday freight delivery service from High Level.
Winter Access & Bistcho Lake Expeditions: With its heated cabins and ample parking for sled trailers, the campground serves as a popular winter staging area for ice fishing anglers. Located 93 kilometres away in a remote wilderness zone, Bistcho Lake has no direct drivable road access. It can only be reached via snowmobile trails during the winter months (November to April), or via floatplane and expert ATV travel through peatlands in the summer. Traveling to this remote lake requires complete self-sufficiency and high levels of wilderness experience.
